Modern convenience solved the problem — and hid the skill.

Isn't this material free in the public domain?
Much of it is. The documents are scattered across bulletins, catalogs and manuals with no index, no verification and no way to tell a sound principle from a practice that was later found dangerous. The research, the mechanism explanations, the safety classification and the organization are the product.
Are you claiming the old methods were better?
No. Several of them were worse, and one volume is dedicated entirely to methods that should never come back. Each entry states the tradeoff and what replaced it.
Do I have to create an account?
No. There is no password to choose and no profile to fill in. You enter your email address, pay by card, and the download page opens straight away. The email is only used to send your receipt and your files.
Who actually takes the payment?

No — the library is sold as one set. The volumes cross-reference each other constantly: the water chapters matter to the food-storage chapters, and the safety verdicts only make sense against the whole. Splitting it would sell you a worse book for more money per page.

Some historical methods are. Those are written non-operationally and marked with a modern safety classification explaining why they were abandoned. The books teach understanding first; they are not a substitute for professional advice on electrical, structural, water-safety or food-safety decisions.
